Removing EGR system
Hey guys, so I'm working on my aftermarket headers, and as I'm removing the right one, I noticed the pipe coming off of it, I'm guessing that's where the egr system is pulling from, I've tried everything I can to remove it, and it just won't budge, so it got me wondering if anyone has completely removed their egr system??
In manitoba here emissions laws are pretty lax, and I'm not planning on putting cats in the car after the headers and exhaust are done either,so I figured, well why not just remove the egr too. I'd especially like to hear from the few of you that already have custom headers on your car. Did you guys reconnect the egr system when you made your headers?

Re: Removing EGR system
on the old Subaru's we generally put a block off plate on them and close the vac line to it.

Re: Removing EGR system
Have you taken a good look at your stock exhaust manifold, with the head shields taken off? They are pretty much a cast iron equal-length header, so the performance gain of building headers for the car is probably not that great, possibly some longer runners might help. (Would definitely be cool though!)
