starting problems

in short, occasionally when i try to start the car, the engine doesn't turn over at all
ill let the car sit for a couple minutes and then it'll start up right away

and...idk if this has any connection with the problem above, but in the mornings when i start the car, the engine will turn and catch the first time, but then immediately die
i start it a second time and its fine

could this be because of a low battery?
i really dont know

Lightbulb You can always...

...1) check the battery. An old wornout battery can do this a lot.

2) I've had a switch/ignition cyliner issue (for about 4 years) where if you wiggle the key a bit it starts every time. The shop suggested I needed a "new or rebuilt starter" at that time... Needless to say the car has been starting for the last 4 years so I didn't follow their advi$e.

Cheers!

A new ignition switch seems to have cured the intermittent, turn-the-key-and-hear-nothing problem for me.
