What a bent rod from an SVX engine looks like

Thought you guys around here might want to share in my misery.

After a freak set of unlikely circumstances (a combination of failed fuel pressure regulator, vacuum and gravity feed), the entire engine filled with fuel... so next morning it just went "click" when I went to start it. Never once turned over, so thought it was just a failed starter motor.

Anyway, finally got the engine open last week... I now have this souvenir on my desk.

Who would have thought that a start motor had that much punch?

I think I'll make a light stand out of it.

WOW!!! I had a similar thing happen when I took my injectors out and let it stand a few days, when I put some different ones in I got the "click" when the starter engaged, left it overnight and the petrol drained out the exhaust manifold/joint, no damage done

Oooh up dating the conrods to those new fangdankle prebent subaru ones like on the FB20

That has a nice bend in it.

It would be a good talking point on your desk.
I have a nice bent valve that fell out of my Vortex 6, some where near my desk.

Wish I'd got away with it that easily. This is getting a little expensive now.

Did you mount it or turn it into a useful lamp? I think I've figured out a way to install LEDs.

"Fell out"?

But yes, my desk is a little non-standard in that way.
