Bumpers ????? !!!!!

Ron old son I am with you. Modern cars are stupid, stupid, stupid.

There was a time when "Yank Tanks" as we called them, were made good for shunting operations which I understand was common practice up there. While I don't advocate that sort of parking a car should have some non scratch protection front and rear especially in this age of durable plastics.

Bumpers ? all painted and gleaming to scratch at a touch are stupid, stupid, stupid.

If you guys want to ignore me because of this, go right ahead. In retrospect, I wish I had been more mature and possible just TAKEN his wipers and given him my phone number and left a note that said "If you want your wipers back call me and apologize for hitting my car" or something.... but man, I was pissed off and could barely think. This guy hit my car TWICE. Not once, but TWICE. What a ****ING MORON.

What bothers me most about this is that I got into an argument about this with my girlfriend... she was pressing that I 'stole' his windshield wipers.. no. I didn't. I TOOK his windshield wipers for a reason. I don't even want them. The point of me TAKING them is that now this BOZO has to go to autozone and spend 10 dollars getting new ones. Why? Because he hit someones car, TWICE. I have no inconvienced him. He has to take time out of his day to go get new wipers... BECAUSE he hit my car. I bet you 5 bucks he won't ever hit someone again or at the very least be a TON more careful and considerate. So just think: I have effectively removed one inconsiderate dumbass driving a ford from potential harm to your vehicle in Madison. If you stop in Madison, you should thank me. Anyway, back to the arguement: She kept saying I stole his wipers. Well guess what? This guy STOLE my pristine rear bumper and replaced it with one htat has stupid screw divits in it. Lets see: Wipers: $10. Back SVX bumper? $200+ dollars. Who got hte better deal? Well, I'd SURE as hell rather have someone steal my wipers than STEAL my bumper and replace it with a beat one.

Basically, the guy's just going to get in his truck and say, "Hmmm, some dumba$$ STOLE my wipers. How Stupid . . . how ignorant . . . how moronic!" I'm afraid you haven't taught him anything, since he would have absolutely no idea WHY someone STOLE his wipers. Sheesh. All you have here is a "two wrongs" situation, and we know what that DOESN'T make.

Your logic is severely flawed.

Your girlfriend is right - you stole the windshield wipers. I don't care how justified you think you were to do it (because you weren't), you stole them. They were somebody else's property and you took them. And if the driver gets in an accident because he didn't have windshield wipers, it is my opinion that you're to blame. I don't care if the guy parked on top of your car, you had no right to steal his property.

Second, it's not your place to teach that guy a lesson. We have systems in place (called government) that protect our rights as individuals. Vigilantes have no place in a free society, because then it ceases to be free.

So, no, next time I visit Madison I will not thank you. If that driver recognizes my car it's more likely that he's going to associate me with your immature, ridiculous actions than think, 'oh, I'd better treat that guy over there with total, complete courtesy.'

You're still trying to excuse your inexcusable behavior. If there was a shred of justification for what you did, I'd give you the benefit of the doubt. Regardless of what happened to you prior to your actions, you had absolutely no right to do what you did. At this point, the only honorable thing for you to do is to admit that you were wrong and learn from your mistakes. Arguing when you haven't a leg to stand on makes you look foolish.

Sorry, I'll disagree with you Mr. Pockets, because the 'system' sure does one hell of a bang up job... lets see... Robber enters house... slips down stairs... sues family... gets settlement. WTF?! My boss had his lexus SUV parked on the street and some lady hit it. He got the plate number. FIled a claim. His insurance went up, even though he wasn't in the car. Awesome. Maybe if the system was WORKING I wouldn't do that.

I admit I was wrong. In the future, I'll probably just take his wipers and leave a note saying "You hit my car, you owe me an apology, I have your wipers, call me" or something, but I wasn't thinking clearly.

And yet, without a leg to stand on, you flail about so wildly.

Nobody stole anything from you. Somebody damaged your property. Do you have legal recourse against that person? Yes. But that doesn't give you, or anybody the right to take the law into your own hands.

You have not seen hit yet. Wait till I get over there.

$200+ yeah right. Knowing you, you would just go to an autozone and get a black (mismatched) touchup paint and put paint over them.

Stuff like that do happen. It's just a car. Get over it and get a life.

I am done.

Whatever. You guys sure act all high and mighty, but man, I'd like to see what you would do if something like this happened to you. I love this car. I'm a car nut, and now, from yesterday onward, whenever I wash my car I have to think of htat moron when my washing mit gets caught on the screwed up plastic on my rear bumper.

since you had a little tantrum and "beat-up" the car that hit you, you lost out, because that isn't going to fix your car. you should have recorded the license plate number and left a note-

"Dear person that hit my car,
i have recorded your plate #, secured a witness, and have taken several photographs of the scene and damage you inflicted to my rear bumper. here is my phone number. if i do not here from you in xxx days, i will file a police report and forward this information to my insurance company, thanks,
Ca$h."

go get several estimates for the damage and have the person pay when they call (they will.) then you can have your bumper repaired, or pocket they money and fix it yourself. now you don't have either of those options, just the satisfaction of knowing your hissy-fit really taught his windshield wipers a lesson.

Ok. Fine. I was immature. I can admit when I was wrong, and I know that I didn't do the right thing. However, I still hate assholes that can't park and hit peoples cars.

we all do. and ones that can't drive, use turn signals, merge, etc., but you can't just flip out on everyone that pisses you off. i don't carry a gun, because i'd end up using it on someone. "Guns don't kill people, I kill people."
