Free spoiler repainting? Sweet!

A friend of a friend saw my SVX for the first time yesterday and he absolutely loved it! Turns out he paints cars for a living. He told me that there's a booth time soon (my friend's Tbird) with gloss black, and that if I took the spoiler off (and front&reaer wiper arms) and gave it to him, he will sand and prep, then paint it for free! He called it an "engagement present", even tho I got engaged in December '04...

I have the usual spoiler chips. There is one chunk in the back almost the size of a quarter tho, so that's going to be awesome having that fixed. Please share your discounted car work stories. I hope there are many more for me in the (near) future.

PS: My other friend's dad owns a Kal Tire, so I'm thinking I'll get a sweet deal on wheels&tires when it's time to do that too. Looking at the silver EVO-7 - CR238s here: http://www.kaltire.com/retail/custom...heels&type=FWD

I have the info on them written down at work. I think the offset is +42, and the bolt pattern is dual, 114.3x5 (ours) and another that I don't remember.

Why is it that you can't get aftermarket wheels?

Can you get down here and stay long enough for him to do it, and pay me in beer for his services? heh

I'll see when he wants to do it. If it's on or shortly after the 2nd, then you could always leave the spoiler here and pick it up on your way home. I'll let you know what Eddie says next time I talk to him. You've got my ph# so give me a call close to the 2nd if you haven't heard from me.

The problem with my spoiler is that when I had it repainted they didn't prep it properly and the paint bubbled on both sides.

Well, that sucks. This guy is good. He already did my friend's Tbird before and it looks GOOD. There was some traouble with the paint on the back bumper, so Eddie spoke to his paint reps and got them to pay for the respray session. Can't you go back to the guy who did yours and ask for a similar deal?
