SVX '92 Wipers failing. Possibly selling

Since owning a 1992 SVX I have been plagued with the wipers not working on numerous occasions. Wiper stick switch replaced, but problems continue. This is not great for New England weather.

Have found if I turn the car off for 5-10 minutes, the wipers often restart. Seems like a short somewhere. Is it expensive to have a mechanic check the wiring behind the steering wheel assembly?
I had a remote start added. and don't know if these wires could be causing the problem.

Am thinking of selling the "92 silver SVX touring (Lsi?) with 112,000 miles. What price range? Too many things have been replaced: transmission, alternator, 2 cat converters, bearings, etc.
