The rarest should be a 96/97 model for the german market with the adjustment to the restrictive emissions regulations Euro 2 and the legalized third brakelight.

Yellow is a very rare color but not as rare as 7.

Danny,

Does yours have no O2 sensors, or just no catalytic converters?

Yes I would have to agree with Danny. His model is a no emmisions model, only has a carbon canister and PCV. No cats, no closed loop, no EGR. I don't think there wouldn't be many markets that would have taken this model, except the oil rich ones, that couldn't care less about poultion or mpg. just wanted raw power.

Harvey.

As for in the USA, I'd have to say ANY 97, as only 660 were imported into the USA...

If you want the rarest year, then yes 97 would be it. But, if you really want to be technical the rarest SVX would be a FWD model. They didn't make too many of those.

This question would have to be qualified. If I put luminous acid green leather upholtery in my car, I'm pretty sure nobody else would be stupid enough to do the same, it would be the only one in the world, I could claim it as the rarest SVX.

However, a collector would consider my modification as devaluing the car, so this rarity would be of no value.

If your question on rarity relates to factory released cars, then some of the pre-production cars would qualify, but I would plump for the pace car they built with the weird purple paint job.

what color is the rarest laguna blue or Barcelona Red?

I'm willing to bet Laguna Blue is way rarer than Barcelona Red.

Again, if you go world-wide, then Yellow must be the rarest of all. We should check with the factory to see how many were produced.

There is also a very nice dark Graphite grey, not too many around. Phil in the UK bought a late-model JDM car this year with a rare blue colour. It would be good to know how many of these were produced. Peacock Blue is the factory name for it.

Thanks Phill

Mal's car

BTW, Mal had his yellow car at the summer meet in Peterborough. It is as good as you see it in the pic, maybe better.

He has it in lovely condition, and the aftermarket wheels suit it really well, lend a more modern look to it.

Banana Power!!!

Svxistensialist: I have a Dark Teal SVX which I have always read was also known as Peacock Blue in other markets. This Peacock Blue, if it is in fact also the Dark Teal in the US market, is definitely NOT rare, in fact I'd say it's one of the most common.

Hey a teal is a duck, but a peacock is WAY bigger....

I can't answer this one, but I know how we can find out.

I've never seen a teal in the flesh, only in photos. Arthur has a polo green car, but I'm aware that is much "greener" than teal.

This car of Phil's is a late model special edition, with strange oatmeal tweed upholstery, and carbon coloured panels on the dash, rather than wood effect. I do think the colour is unique to the car, but let's prove it.

What is the code for your paint off the vehicle VIN plate? I think that's where it's listed. I'll get on to Phil, and get him to check his code. If they are the same, you are correct. If not.......

In the right light, it actually looks blue, and I have always been reluctant to call it [teal] green.
