Time for a 97??????

Grill that is.

Funny how I've been such a supporter of the original waterfall grill.......right up untill mine started to condensate. Now I'm really likeing the idea of the 97 style grill. So how much should I expect to pay for one of these?

My first thought would be $142.00, but I don't know if they are available any more from a dealer or internet shop. I would say to shop around, and if you can't find one of them, there is always the Smallcar grill. A little more, but still better than the waterfall grill. Good luck.

97 grills are dirt cheap. They are only 150 bucks. you should see the OEM price for waterfall grill.

I'd kinda feel like I was cheating if I put a 97 grill on it...

I think only 650 were imported to the States in '97. Not many around. I was fortunate to find mine "in a dealer's showroom" about 5 years ago with 9K on the clock (actually, a local dealer found it for me). He was selling it on consignment. Unfortunately it now has over 70K on it, since I use to commute with it.

Seriously, I'm adjusting my finances to be ready when a deal comes along. You are in a very unique position owning one. Take care of that baby!!

I'm still a big fan of the waterfall. Gives symmetry to the front with a smooth unbroken line across the front of the car, which matches the full-width tail light panel across the rear. A while back I put a 97 grille on my original pearlie and my outspoken assistant convinced me to take out (She said that grille on a pearl car looked like the mouth of a catfish waiting for a hook) and put the original "smiling" waterfall back in...

When you get to Reading, I can show you how to get rid of your condensation permanently, just by drilling two small 1/4" unseen holes in the grille (but not in the most likely spot). It seems funny that drilling more holes cures the problem better than trying to seal the grille.
