This will probably overcome the fault. But as I have advised many times, will not fix it. N.B. Refer last page, current post, "Lets talk about this annoying hot start problem".

Re: click click click...start? click click start!

The Bosch relay has started my car several thousands of times without fail since I did it! There is no other known solution to this problem.
If this is not a "fix" it is danged close!

Cheers, Trevor

That the existing fault will not develop further, on a cold and rainy night.

Yeah, I put in the Bosch Relay and still have clicking problems with hot starts . Could be that the relay went bad though...

That and a lot of other things, friend!

However, with the Bosch relay sitting there, easily assessable when I open the hood, a simple screwdriver touching across the 2 Bosch relay terminals with the key turned on to the run position and the SVX in park, providing the instant start! Another praise the Lord! on the road again.

Trevor, I am just dying for the day that you hop in your SVX and start the engine, rather try to start the engine and you get the click that so many of the rest of us have experienced! Not wishing you any bad luck because this is one of the cheapest and easiest mods possible.

When this happens, please take your camera to the auto parts place and get us a picture of you standing at the counter with a Bosch relay in your hand and give us a big smile while the camera clicks away. Another "not so bad click".

On your post, please end with... Please see attachment! Cheers, Trevor!

Well then, lets go ahead and recomend a full harness replacement of everything related to the starting system to get it done your way. That won't cost thousands of dollars or anything.

How about we recommends that da guy cleans both ends of his main starter cable, then if that doesnt work, pull the starter and bench test it.

Sorry, a full harness replacement will not fix the fault, and finding everything related to the starting circuit might be an impossible task.

Re: click click click...start? click click start!

With so many cars apparently having this trouble one might think that someone would have isolated the culprit by now.

Best to take the logical approach and properly check for voltage drop, all along the tenuous electrical path involved, which includes many sets of interlocking control contacts.

??? Which car are you referring to? The main cable goes directly to the starter from the positive battery post. Bosche relay mod aside, from the very fact that the starter clicks when the key is turned means its getting the proper 12V signal to the solenoid.

Two main things remain when you have a starter click but not turn the engine: Dirty contacts not allowing enough amperage to turn the flywheel, or a bad starter. I have seen both many times, thats why the next logical step is to clean contacts, then bench test the starter.

Ahhhhthankyou!
