Re: Not sure I can bring myself to do it...

And even better yet with the tri-coat black, like Redlightning's car.

Barcelona Red or Ruby Mica... Second and third on my list, behind Laguna Blue, which ALSO just BEGS for tri-coat black roof and trunk, and moved-back-1.5" spoiler, and lowered over some slick +1 or +2 wheels.

My previous thing about a darker blue would be more in line with the darker, richer Ruby Mica red, or Claret maroon, in a blue tone, rather than the brighter, bolder Laguna Blue, Brilliant, or Barcelona Reds, or the sharp contrast of pearl white with black.

Re: Not sure I can bring myself to do it...

Well I called the insurance company and arranged cash settlement for the damages, "at my own risk" as "repair prices are sure to rise and there may be hidden damage".

This was the same thing I did 8 years ago when the front got smashed in, the intent way back then of being a complete repaint, but of course that never happened. So add yet another blemish on this car that will probably be there until the end.

Hey if a few more careless drivers whack my car in parking lots, I'll have enough in settlements to buy 2 or 3 SVXes and use mine as a demo derby car or something.

Seriously though, this time I'm going to try to keep the money stashed away in a repaint fund and hopefully add to it. At some point in the future hopefully I'll be able to approach this topic again.

Re: Not sure I can bring myself to do it...

Thinking about painting, but not sure which way to go: When I got the car it had the bottom painted black. I got the black hood after I got a little too close to a Jeep . Now I am not sure if I want to get the hood painted white or paint the top of the front fenders and mirrors black.

Mine is going to be two toned like that, tops of the fenders, hood, mirrors, roof and top of the trunk will be House of Kolor's Galaxy Gray and everything below will be House of Kolor's Orion Silver.

I think it will look good, every time I look a the car I can't help but think that is how they should have done it in the first place.
