Now here's the after port & polish, pressure test, mill .010, valve job.
Headers next, flanges here, just gotta get tubing.
Waiting for pricing on shortblock rebuild. It would be nice to swing that this summer.

Re: Oh yeah, heads!

They're soooo clean!

Did you use a flow bench for the P&P, or just do it by eye?

Re: Oh yeah, heads!

No flow testing.
Based on RallyBob's testing it's the exh side that needs the work.
That's fer sure!
These just got a lil pocket porting, near valves, w/ most actual porting on exh side. Mostly since I'm also not sure if I'm gonna run regrind cams in place of OE ones.
You just can't get the dogleg good and I'd wanna know how thick the heads were before hoggin them out.
If I was gonna try to max these out I'd definitely get them "extrude honed".
Injectors goin out for clean and cal this comin week.
Still waiting on pricing for shortblock rebuild.

Here's dynomatt or RallyBob's?? info-
Don't know if this interests anyone, but I recently flowed a bone-stock EG33 SVX head for a friend of mine.
It was done on my Superflow 110 flowbench, measured at 10" of water.

Intake flow:
.100" - 49 cfm
.150" - 76 cfm
.200" - 101.5 cfm
.250" - 125.5 cfm
.300" - 146 cfm
.350" - 164 cfm
.400" - 166.5 cfm
.425" - 167.75 cfm
.450" - 167.75 cfm
.475" - 168 cfm

Exhaust flow:
.100" - 44 cfm
.150" - 62 cfm
.200" - 79 cfm
.250" - 92.5 cfm
.300" - 99.5 cfm
.350" - 104 cfm
.400" - 107 cfm
.425" - 109 cfm
.450" - 109 cfm
.475" - 110 cfm

You'll note the intake ports really seem to like valve lift, whereas the exhaust ports are not so good at higher lifts. Note the massive jump in intake airflow from .250" to .400" valve lift. Exhaust flow proportion is a bit low, so that seems to be where development might make the best gains in HP.

To convert my numbers to the common '28" of water' figure, multiply these numbers by 1.67. To convert my numbers to 25", multiply by 1.54.

Re: Oh yeah, heads!

I think i was wrong..I found dynomatts numbers and they are similar but different.

Intake port flows have been done, but in Australia we use 10" of water vs your 28" of water I think. So 10" water figures (you'd need to change them) are:

4mm - 84cfm
6mm - 123.8 cfm
8mm - 150.8cfm
10mm - 158.9cfm
12mm - 160.3cfm
14mm - 159.3cfm

The exhaust flows diffeently. It has the following:

4mm - didn't get them
6mm - 98.1cfm
8mm - 109.8cfm
10mm - 113.8cfm
12mm - 116.7cfm
14mm - 118.3cfm

Re: Oh yeah, heads!

for my 2 cents...I think the numbers show the negatives outweight the positives to go with lift higher than in the 8's for the intakes. From experience running different cams I've found sticking with 8ish works great.

Re: Oh yeah, heads!

and about 9 on the exhaust...coincidentally that's what all my camsets run..about 8 on the intake and 9 on the exhaust..variations around there are due to differences in duration etc

Re: Oh yeah, heads!

can you get 9mm out of the exhausts? I need to check my notes but thought the springs coil bind at a bit over 8mm?

Or do you change springs?
