Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

I need to make some new directions. I'm sure there is a fuse in the interior fuse box that is on the ignition or accessory circuit. I'll identify one and put it in the directions along with updated pictures of the new style adaptors. That should be a simple way to install a switch without having to take anything apart or search for a power source.

First impressions, pretty nice. MPG will take a bit to get in but seems to honestly run a little smoother.

=D I had an aftermarket stereo and I knew exactly what wire to get to. That was not the pain. It was getting the ECU out for me, I don't exactly have small fingers. I ended up not putting on nut on the very top of the ECU to secure it to the mount due to I literally spent over an hour trying to get that nut on there.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

I put the top nuts on but just barely and hang the tcu on the ecu but hold on to just the ecu while putting it up there. Get the top nuts past the bracket and then slide it down till the bottom bolt fits in the slot. Then put the bottom nut on. The key is to not get the tcu in the way while you are doing it. It's one of those things that is very easy if you get it just right and really annoying if you don't. I've become unreasonable skillful at it having done it hundreds of times.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

Testing is going I need to make sure it is getting power to the switch (just worried about it ). So far I used one tank with it in but that was not my normal driving pattern .

What voltage is needed to power that chip?

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

Performance seems better idk if its me but idle seems a little smoother and a bit more responsive. I need to get out their and test the wiring to make sure its getting 5 volts at least.

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

you're comparing between the positions of the switch or to the stock tuning

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

Filled up today, 22.3 mpg, which is slightly better than with the stock software, and I did have some bad weather on this tank where I let the car warm up and had some slow driving, so it may improve a bit more. I have not felt any pinging at speed. I continue to have vibrations at a light, although it seems less noticeable overall, but every so often i do notice a misfire every so often. Plugs and coils are good, so I will check the ignition module tomorrow, but this was there before as well. The 1v5 tune is great, the car is noticeably quicker off the line and ALL of the stumble is gone FINALLY! It is not there with the optional economy tune either, which is nice. Overall, it works great so far, I will keep updating, sorry it took so long, bad weather/holidays were keeping me back.
Happy new year,
Joe

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

thanks guys,

I'm assuming you did some spirited driving to test the software before returning to your typical driving for getting fuel economy data.

How does the performance of the new software compare to the standard 1v5 software?

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

Seeing as my car is with a stuck thermostate I only got about two tanks in it but I noticed it more responsive and defiantly smoother running like the others stated. I noticed 1 or 2 (not quite two but close) MPG gains when not driving like a ass .

Re: New for Christmas 08 Stage1Av1

wicked, how noticeable is the performance improvement going from 1v5 to A1v1? Has there been any change in engine temps?
