I only ran 15.7@89.45MPH with stock gears&flaring, majorly screwed up exhaust, dying MAF, Spare removed, 1/4 tank of gas, and about 60 degrees out.
I suspect I'll do a little better next time out.

I want to run my SVX 5-speed so badly!!! Hopefully I can go sometime real soon.


So ...what should I expect from a 5-speed SVX?

John (AvPPoW) ran a 16.2 or so. TomsSVX ran a 14.8 w/o cams. You'll probably be somewhere in between.

Follow up.

Whats the best way to launch the 5-speed SVX? I tried a clutch dump at 5k or so and the clutch was not very happy. It seemed to like 2,500-3 a lot better and smoother. Any other comments on this?

Launching at 5K rpms will definitely heat up your clutch quickly and cause it to slip. However, if you launch too low in the rpm band, your engine will bog, and the 'strain' will be placed on your trans.

Best thing to do it pump your tires up to 40psi all around, and try launching at 3.5-4K rpms. That should be enough to spin the tires briefly so that the engine doesn't bog and as little strain as possible will be placed on the trans.
