What would you rather have?
Ok, dont know if this has been asked before, but here goes.
What car would you most like to have other then an svx? Can be unrealistic (like lambo or something). I'd have to go with a Ferrari 456. They are so sexy, and have one of the most advanced engines (maybe not anymore). I have only seen 2 ever. One at a Ferrari meet by my house and the other at the Chicago Auto Show. So, tell us what you would rather have, this could get interesting.

If confined to 'instead of the SVX' it would be a Porsche 928, they (the car) do everything well.
Unlimited - Ferrari 365 GT Daytona Spyder, in my book the best looking convertible ever built. Unlimited and a bigger pocketbook than God - Dual Cowl Dusenberg, but only if it comes with a chauffeur. Beav |

I'd hire a special ops team to break into subaru headquarters and steal me on of the silver 92's (without a spoiler of course) with 0 miles on them that I know subaru must have hidden somewhere. A room full of brand new SVX's just waiting to be deployed onto the world markets at the exact moment when car collectors everywhere decide the SVX is priceless. A clever plan indeed subaru, but I have figured it out, and now I shall win your little game!
Barring that, I dunno, I guess there are a bunch of cars I'd like to own, it'd be hard to pick just one. If I were able to have many, I'd probably feel bad that I wasn't spending the money on something more beneficial for the world. A nice Jag etype, an aston martin db5, a lotus esprit, a porsche 356 ... a mclaren f1... there are lots of nice cars in the world, but I wouldn't get rid of my SVX to own one. None of those cars really meets the daily driver description, and the same could be said of most enticing cars. One of the few exceptions I can think of would be the BMW m3, which I think would be a great daily driver, perhaps with an audi s4 or WRX for rougher conditions. But really, I'd be just as happy driving my SVX and spending the excess capital on something to make other folks happy. But that mclaren would be tempting... |

newish: bentley convertable twin turbo, red with tan interior OR if in a sporting mood that new astin martin composit body two seater that goes 0 to 60 in like 3.8 seconds (or some insane number like that).
oldish: astin matrin lagonda, the injected one. |

Anything in existence? It would be a toss up between the CERV (Corporate Experimental Research Vehicle) that GM made in the early 90's or the new Cadillac CIEN concept.
Money no object? a Bugatti EB110. So damn ugly and fast, its beautiful. Realistically? After I build my garage and get my two mustangs out of moth balls ( 69 GT convertible and a 70 convertible), I plan to add to the stable (not necessarly in this order) a 63 4 door Lincoln Continental Convertible, a 91-95 Range Rover LWB County, and most important, a beefed up SVX. Not sure exactly what mods yet, but for sure a 5 speed with 4.11 gears. Hopefully custom cams, porting, polishing, perhaps a custom supercharger?? The possibilities are endless... Doug

1. A gullwing Mercedes - for touring.
2. An AC Cobra - for racing. 3. A Mercedes 600 Pullman chauffered by Sophia Loren - for everything else. Pass the Chianti! Ron.

<<Just curious why a *'63* Continental.>>
I personally wanted a 64, but the wife likes the looks of the 63 better. There is just something about a 4 door convertible. I used to have a 63 Impala 4 door hardtop and I love the way a car looks with 4 doors and no pillars in between. Doug

I know what you mean, we ended up having every year Continental from '57 - '73. Still have a few friends with four door ragtops.

Ron, I finally found Chianti in a wicker covered box. And, I agree. There's nothing like a beautiful Italian woman. I know, I've lived with one for over 30 years. Larry III |
