I just read this thread. Funny, before this thread, I was thinking if you could drum up some cash by working on my car. you make some money, i save some money. I responded to your FS 14sec SVX thread.

It's the best maybe we can talk on the phone, is it okay if I get your cellphone from Tom "supercharged"?

The problem I can see is our distance. Can you respond what is your zip code? It will be more helpful if I figure out the transport....I guess that'll be quite costly.

My main point of how am I going to decide to get my yellow x back to the road will be based on the cost-of-value. I know my car's conditions and I know how much money will be worth it (maybe ) to put it to my car.....but sometimes love is blind.

Mostly just curious, but what kind of technicalities are you talking about when it comes to doing a 5mt conversion???

Ok, so how bout a rough example using a Forester's 5spd (estimate cost of the actual tranny using a low mileage example)

Mostly depends on parts... I would say roughly 2500 for just the install plus parts

I can vouch for Tom's excellent work. Both in replacing broken parts (e.g. my broken front diff case), to replacing transmissions to even engine mod work.

Plus Beach Haven, NJ is a great place to hang out for a few days and the hotel rates are super cheap during the winter!
