Interesting. I dyno'd my car with my stock wheels and all season Bridgestones last December. Each wheel and tire combo weighed in at 47lbs a piece!

My new RX-7/Dunlop SP Sport combo weighs in at a tad under 40 lbs.

Hmmm.....

The highest ive traped was 93MPH .

You do have a 5spd though from what I remember from talking to you on NASIOC. What was your best 1/4 mile, btw? n/a or nos?

One 5MT member here, PhastSVX, trapped at 95mph during an n/a 14.59 1/4 mile run.

hey Chike, do u think I will be able to lay down trap speeds over 100mph when I finish the twin turbo?? My car will remain completely in street trim as I love the sleeepers so it will still be heavy. I hope once I am done to be able to tag mid 13's maybe even scrape into the 12's

If your engine was truly making 250hp at the crank on a 80 degree day, you should be trapping around 91.5+mph in the 1/4 mile and probably running 15 flat to upper 14's in the 1/4 mile.

What mods have you done since you ran the 15.37 @ 89.6mph? Is your car still in the same state of tune?

-Chike
how about 95.00 granted my car weighs in atleast 100lbs, and less then rediculous(auto subaru) drivetrain loss :/

I think you said you planned on running 6psi of boost initially? Doing the calculations:

6/14.7 X 230hp = 93.87hp above stock output, or ~320+hp (assuming a perfect turbo system with no boost leaks, etc.)

A drag racers *rough* rule-of-thumb is every 10hp increase = gain of 1mph in the 1/4 mile. You should therefore gain 8-9mph in your trap speed which will put you at 99.5-100.5mph in trap speed.

*Understand that this is no more than conjecture as the drag racer's rule-of-thumb is far from being scientific!

in that case, I feel that I am going to be maxing out the injectors below 6lbs. I planned on racing at 8psi so that would put me even higher than that. I think i need to get the system operational and work from there to cure my fuel issues. I think maybe upgrading to some bigger injectors like LAN will be including in the stage 3 package and running an E-manage like SVXtasy has in his car. I still am going to need a co-driver if I cannot find some time on a dyno to tune it. I may dyno the car with the N/A stage 2 but I will definately dyno it with the twin turbo just for bragging rights

The stock injectors were flow tested to 60 psi with no issues. Even with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and the Walbro fuel pump, will you really max out your injectors???

You can find a downloadable (Windows excuteable) calculator on this website which will give you an idea of what flow rate is needed:

Thanks Mychailo. That's a good calculator to have!
