Like I said, try 'n splain that one to Officer Mitchel, as far as safty you might want to read the San Francisco Chronicle online tomorrow, it seems 4 people were killed when the car they were riding in lost controll and wraped a tree at a high rate of speed, so you don't need that second car to get into trouble. If you think that driving at a high rate of speed isn't dangerous then please tell me where you live so I can avoid it. Furthermore I find it offensive that you come walking into this arena and start complaining about the rules that were here long before you showed up. When in rome do as the romans do. The mods can censor whatever they want, they have earned that right.

Furthermore if you were truley being censored then this thread would have been deleted with your origional thread and you would have been banned, censors won't tollerate anyone who disagrees with them, as it is both threads still exist. I would sugest that you buy a server, lease the forum software and start http://www.jims_street_racing_and_wh...talk_about.com

I really can't believe you guys refuse to be mature and respect the wishes of the moderation crew and the administrators, and just not post about the subject. I can assure you- there are very few people around here who care what you did in the name of trying to prove youreself.
nuf said, I'm starting to feel like this thread could be a subplot of The Young And The Restless...

In many cases, the rules the mods enforce are not rules WE made up. We only do what has been asked of us. We have been asked to keep things civil and also to keep some types of threads from occurring. We don't come up with these things all by ourselves. When there is something questionable, it is discusses by the Admins and Mods to decide what position will be taken. I am a member of a couple other sites, and there is no messing around. If a mod says something, and you don't do it, you are out. I am not saying that it should be that way here too. I don't like walking on egg shells, and I am sure many members could not relax and enjoy the threads like they do.

This network has grown a lot over the last few years. The attitude has changed and it is not the same as it was before. That is not because of the rules. It is because of the ever changing dynamics of this group of members. I would like you to remember why you are here - the SVX. If you were on the Yahoo site, you would know that this is the best place to be to discuss this great car, and not worry about some of the other petty things.

What about those that stopped posting due to the personal attacks, flame wars, and general level of immature BS that is now rampant here?

My take is that we've lost more good people due to this than by setting rules in place and requesting members stick to them. Many of those felt that the entire Not Exactly SVX forum had no place here and should be closed. As it exists now, it requires more baby-sitting than the other forums combined.

Finally, if you don'tlike the rules, do as Chris suggested and try an organized approach to making changes or head to another forum (or even better, make your own, many of you have the skills, Do it...Do it) and post your str33t kills there y0!

Todd

BTW- as Nick said, the mods don't want street racing threads. None of us. Nick just has the ability to access his computer more often than the rest of us.

I think you hit the nail on the head right there. I came up with the same conclusion last night, just forgot to add it into my post.

Ah. The always present "go make your own website" argument... I voiced an opinion, respectfully I might ad, and now you're telling me to go elsewhere. Friendly site you have here.

Anyway, don't worry about me. I'll point out every thread that's remotely illegal until we realize this is a losing battle.

It's as good an arguement as the democracy arguement that keeps being thrown out by those feeling repressed by the man.

You voiced your opinion (and thread) we respectfully referred you to the rules of the site (you read them, I assume) and locked the thread. Friendly enough in my opinion, but not open to any post you feel the need to make. Plenty of sites on the intrAweb for that stuff....just not here.

Glad to hear your willingness to become a moderator here. Send a PM to one of the admins (Chris, Colin, or Mike) and welcome aboard!

How does one become a moderator? I will be a police officer in a year or so ( hopefully) so i think its only right i become apart of this law enforcement agency we have . This issue is something that will discussed for years to come and the stance the mods take will be the same. Yes it sucks we can't post street racing threads but something tells me we wont ever be able too.

It really sucks that we have to watch pretty much everything we say when we post something. God forbid i mention how i was speeding next to a car and i get a warning in my PM box. Its a s***** rule but something tells me it will never change. The mods are just doing there jobs...we can't bash em for that. I have been to other street racing forums and it is ridiculous how out of hand it is on the sites i have seen. I like it here because of how much order and respect we have for one another. However i think that the majority of the people here that are in favor of street racing threads are mature enough to not bash and flame and let things get out of hand. Street racing threads IMO are very entertaining to read....and i think thats why people want them to be allowed. And then there are some people who dont even care about street racing but just hate the policing that is going on. All i know is that this is a great site and im glad I have it because ive learned alot about my car from it.

I just read the ruled again and i found this line i found to be hillarious

"If the offense continues, a PM with the word, “WARNING” in the subject line, will be sent, along with an explanation that further infractions will result in a “Time-Out”, during which time they will be unable to post "

a time out? what is this kindergarten?

WOW, this turned out to be a really big issue... ... My own opinion, which holds almost no weight here, is that I absolutly, passionatly HATE Ricer threads... Threads about Ricers street racing are the most retarded thing in the world.

That being said I wanted to say also that I had no problem reading about an SVX playing with a camaro in the country.

Though, after my incodent in the mountians last month I would highly advise keeping spirited driving (atleast the type that I like to do) on the track and/or Autocross course.

Now that I've said my part, I think that we can all forget about this and go watch my 2004 Reading SVX Rally Video
