Dorian, the previous owner, had a Chalak heavy duty gearset installed. He was part of the first group buy over when nabisco was still called i-club. He paid about $2000 IIRC. Much larger teeth, much larger shafts.

anyone got ideas for a six-speed?

just picked up number four and i want it six-speed, already got a 5 speed, and its getting old racing it against the auto-trannies, friends at the wheel. toss up any ideas.

Shift Knob

Sorry it has taken so long to post a picture of the shift know that a couple of you were asking about. I just got reminded when I read the last post.

I have attached a picture of it. The top button is the switch for the NOS. The left one is for the horn, and the right one is for the lights. The bottom one does not do anything.

hmmm...wonder if you could wire the bottom button on the shifter to toggle diff lock?

Ah yes, I believe they are called "Racer Boy" shifters. Crutchfield carries them in their rice section.

Crutchfield has different examples of what they can be used for, you may want to check them out to see if you can use it for the diff lock. If I remember correctly, they make different models with different types of switches.
