New SVX'er
Hello all new owner here with words of thanks to all who has passed on their knowledge of the SVX. Have had the 92 pearl for 2wks and have been crawling all over it, can't help it she is a beauty, 170k excellent condition, codes are maf, and knock sensors, both are cracked. I have done the maf repair found in how to and am waiting to see the results. Steering rack is leaking as are the valve covers, small potatoes in the over all picture. I would like to pass on a little trick of mine to removing stubborn differencial plugs, I work in my driveway and was a little perplexed on how to get "Samantha" up my ramps cause she's so low, figured that out, then since the rear end was growling I wanted to check the diff fluid. So now for the trick, half in craftsman ratchet, 2inch extension, bottle jack, correct wood blocks for spacing, medium pipe wrench. Put a considerable torque on the ratchet with the jack, pipe wrench on the extension, foot on pipe wrench, wa la loose plug. BE CAREFUL under there. Fluid was good and clean so I believe its the wheel bearings, better than a diff in my opinion, anywho this site is awesome , love this car, a subaru I never thought I'd own its number 7 in my subaru fleet......G
