steering rack adjustment

Hello,
Is there a way to adjust the steering rack. I have a little bit of play in mine which seems to be causing some rattling when I go over bumps etc. On one of my other cars, there was an adjustment nut on the top of the rack and pinion unit, which adjusted the lash in the steering. Is there something similar on our SVX's. My steering rack does not have the chronic leaking, so I really don't want to replace it... any thoughts? When i move the wheels with the car jacked up i get the same noise, there is no wear in the tie rods, which I thought it was. Thanks,
Joe

Re: steering rack adjustment

There are two metal bands holding the rack to the subframe. Check to see if those bolts are tight. If they are check the rubber bushings between the bands and the rack.
