Passenger Side wheel vibration

I am getting a vibration that tends to come from my front passenger side wheel area when I am traveling at 50mph+. What has me confused as to what it could be is that it only happens when I turn the wheel to the left as I'm going around a bend or turn it vibrates from the front passenger side front. And now more recently I have had some sort of humming/vibration that it quite stronger and continues intermittently at any speed.

Could this be a wheel bearing or ball joint? Any other suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Passenger Side wheel vibration

it may sound weird but check your lug nuts to see if they are tight.once happened to me with identical symptoms.just grab the top of the wheel and give it a shake or two and you'll know.hope this helps.might save you some aggravation and bucks

Re: Passenger Side wheel vibration

Very doubtful that this is it as you would have clicking but worth a shot, check the half-shaft see if the boots torn and grease has spun everywhere. sorry just reread it and i really doubt its a axle but cant hurt. Why dont you lift the front of the car and get a long screwdriver and spin the front wheel while listening around the bearing area to see if its the culprit grinding away in there. Also while in the air grab the tire top/bottom and try to shake and side/side and try to shake, any play will indicate loose or worn components. Let us know what you find.

Re: Passenger Side wheel vibration

That is what I believe I am going to do to try and narrow it down once I finally have some free time to check everything out. I will keep the board posted with my results. Thanks.

Re: Passenger Side wheel vibration

mine is doing the same damn thing.... I had the front tires balanced and it corrected it for about 3 months and now it's back. My passenger tire is running a little bald, so maybe it's the tire.

UPDATE: Seems my tire was running pretty low (24lbs/2in.) I filled it up and it seems fine now.

Significant Technical Input
Re: Passenger Side wheel vibration

The wheel shaking idea is a good start. I would bet your original problem is an outer tie rod end. If you jack it up and try to shake the wheel it shouldn't shake. If your tie rod end is bad it will shake and you will probably see the motion in the tie rod end if you watch for it.
