Well

I think you need to read all the posts....

As for bringing the SVX to Bloomington, I have no way to get home.

I cleaned the MAS, have not replaced it yet. Which ones from other Scoobys fit?

I'm with Tom, try changing the MAF. I had a very similar problem and a new used MAF seems to have fixed it

I'm with Tom as well, and I don't even have a MAF to sell you.

No, seriously. Don't lose faith in the car. It sounds a lot like the MAF is faulty. Change it.

Buy the maf off Tom. It could be the cheapest mod you ever did. When the SVX goes good, it is good, it's the best.

You will not be a week into Camino ownership, and you will be regretting.

Fix the problem, it's minor.

Joe

I figured that would be a problem. Hopefully a different MAF will fix the problem... then again, there is always stage II with the Z MAF (you'll be set for more mods, too ).

I dropped it off,

At Saints Import Auto in Princeton to have them look at the killing issues and the transmission issues. I have a bumper to bumper extended warrenty that I bought when I got the car and covers the trans and stuff. I did my research on this board before I bought the car and when they offered the coverage, I bought it. Sofar they paid for wheel bearings and power steering pump last fall. Will let ya know how it goes with this spendy adventure.

They mechanic took it for a drive yesterday and loves the car and guess what? It didnt kill once for him, grrrr lol

These guys found the weird problem my XT had so I'm sure they will figure it out. Also helps that it's a second car so I'm in no hurry on thier part.

Tcat....i'm with you.

I may be trading mine in for a G-Body Monte Carlo for my wife. Im hoping to get a El Camino again because that wa my favorite car ever but my wife loves here monte she had for a first car. The Monte is only worth half as much as the SVX so I'm losing a ton of money but I'll be paying way less in parts and people will know how to work on it. Dont get me wrong I love my SVX the 20% of the time it runs right but it just sits there too much. Im losing interest in high maintenance products, no matter how pretty they are.

Cool Richochet; Brian......El Caminos? Are you crazy

Hahah. EL Caminos are the absolute best. As practical as subaru designs cars I would figure you'd be nuts about el caminos. They satisfy a lot of needs and seem the perfect cars for work and play. I almost cried the day I sold mine. I lost about 10,000 in the project but I'll have one someday. One more time

Well no news is good news I guess

Have not heard from them yet on my issues. I told them they could fix anything they find wrong as long as they go thru the warrenty company first. lol

I really want an El Camino, would love a 69 or 70 style. But it looks like the SVX will stay around for awhile longer. Once everything gets fixed again it will be a new car. Cant beat the ride and in rush hour traffic it turns lots of heads when they see the windows. lol
