I've been using a Rhode Gear Cradle Shuttle II upright trunk rack for several years. It articulates to fit over the spoiler and holds one 26" (mtb, 27", 700c) and one 20" (bmx, or in my case, Rans Rocket recumbent). I got it on special for about ninety bucks at Nashbar ( www.nashbar.com ).
It may be discontinued (although I sure wouldn't know why - it fits everything I've ever tried it on. Sedans, Wagons, Vans, etc.), but it can't hurt to try.

The word "rack" alone gives me lower stomach pains. (I'm with you, though, Leo -- if it's one thing I hate worse than "dash warts" it's "roof and trunk warts.")

I'm just shocked to find that I'm not the only one in this club who owns a recumbent
Mine is an old school Linear that I bought used in the early 90's. It folds up and fits in just about any trunk. And nets about as many questions as the SVX does

The Linear is a versatile, and good-looking bike. I especially like the extruded aluminum frame. (Do you have silver or gold?) It fits better than any other LWB on a hang-out-the-back trunk rack but you sure won't get it on an upright rack. I thought the ride was a little squishy (flexible) though. My first recumbent was a Ryan Vanguard LWB. My wife is still mad at me (after 6+ years!) for selling it.

Racks
Two comments found whilst browsing various sites sometime ago. These are nothing to do with me, so don't know what the racks are like and have never tried the companies. May be duff info. Good luck
"At Ski Stop in Plainview, Long Island, New York. I recently bought the Barrecrafter rack, the short roof rack adapter, SVX roof hooks, the Thule 4 pair ski attachment w/ locks. It came to about $320 w/ tax. It was a lot cheaper than Princeton and even all the online ski rack places i was able to find. " "Here's the deal: The racks can be purchased from www.allskis.com. I haven't purchased the rack yet, but I have called this outfit. You need to order three items: US1401 - Bars + connectors $159.95 US220 - Short Roof Adapter $89.95 US288 - Hooks for SVX $24.95 This rack is designed to accept Thule accessories. Good Luck!!! -=From the Yahoo! SVX Club Message 30035: I've got the Barrecrafter rack from www.allskis.com Give them a call. I know they still have them. They have to special order the SVX hooks.
