Strange SVX sighting
Here's something a little different...
There's this new bridge in town that was just completed about a year ago. It spans a small river, and along this river is a well developed paved bicycle/running trail. The trail actually connects several cities in the greater Seattle area and hundreds use it every day for bike commuting or recreation. So when the bridge construction started a few years ago they put up big fancy sign to explain it, kind of promote it for public relations as the construction detoured the trail, etc. Well like I said the bridge has been finished for about a year (beautiful piece of architecture by the way, a little futuristic) but the sign is still up on the trail near the bridge. It's basically three big glass panels - one has a copy of the blueprints, one has the write up about it, and one has a artist's rendering of what the completed bridge would (and does) look like. It's a view from the roadway, showing cars and people crossing it. The lead car in the picture looks familiar. Pretty surprising, as this is an artist's rendering, not a photo, so someone consciously drew an SVX there. The bridge's design has a big emphasis on looking futuristic and artistic, so I take it as an extra compliment that an SVX was pictured in the rendering.

That is very cool. Now you just need to get a picture of your car in that postion on the bridge and mail it to the architect.

Ditto on the "very cool." And from the looks of it, he even has the wheels drawn going in the right direction. You need to find out who the firm is -- get their e-mail, and we can all send them a little note of thanks.

LOL
Great ideas!
Now that you mentioned it, I may at least try to do a little digging to get the story behind this. (if there is one)

It looks like a photo composite to me. I am 99.9% sure that the SVX and the other car (looks like a newer Jag coupe) are photos, just as the people are.
I think the only thing in the composite that isn't a photo is the bridge itself. But, still, that's pretty cool.

Ya know, there's just something about this car that makes people obsess over it... Including the person who created that rendition.
Way cool. VK Last edited by vkykam; 02-08-2002 at 03:31 PM. |

The word is 'unique'. These automobiles are truely not of the 'cookie cutter' world of most cars. It's one of the few cars in the world where you could buy one KNOWING that it would be exclusive and anonymous. Some people want vettes, camaros, etc like everybody else. I want unique, and I got it.

Cool!
...and it is WINGLESS. Unless the planning goes back 10 years, how interesting that the artist picked the earliest model....
....like mine! Don |
