1902 SVX (Spijker)
Saw this interesting vehicle in action on Saturday at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/ecars/C...rs/Spyker.html The commentary said that if was the first 6 cylinder car and the first 4WD car. Unfortunately shortly after it passed us, it broke down and had to be pushed off the track. Seems like the spiritual ancestor of the SVX. The Goodwood Festival of Speed, for those who don't know it, is an event where they get lots of famous racing cars and drivers and race them up a track. They have everything from vintage cars to modern formula 1, LeMans, WRC, dragsters and production supercars. The best bit is you can walk around the paddock and get really close to the cars and talk to the drivers. The event was won by Justin Law, driving a 1990 Jaguar XJR-12 LeMans car. http://www.goodwood.co.uk/fos/ |
