Service Descriptor: 91H SL
Treadwear: 400 A/A
Max Load: 1367lbs @ 44psi

My next tires (on the new wheels) will be:

Service Descriptor: 97Z XL
Treadwear: 220 AA/A
Max Load: 1956lbs @ 51psi

Here's an excellent resource for tire load and service information:

Todd,
I new exactly what that was before I opened it.
I think it's funny and true I pulled that out of your locker a long time ago, played it for family and friends, most think it is stupid but agree it's me.

Is there more to that? Like a video to go with it? What Twillight Zone episode is it from?

John

The MX is supposed to be a good tire... I have not driven on them myself but people comment on them being excellent sport tires for the money.

I would also look strongly at the Bridgestone Potenza RE750.

How about compared to the 712's

Any experience with those Phil?

I have two sets of those in 17" (SVX and VW) and I've been pretty pleased with the balance of performance and cost.

I can comment on that having owned the 712s and driven on the 711s extensively... the 712 has better wet traction but the 711 seems ever-so-slightly sticker in the dry.

The MX is supposed to be better than either.. significantly so, and doesn't have that annoying *HOWL* on swift cornering maneuvers. This may not be a problem depending on your driving style.

The 712 definitely has a much longer treadlife than the MX... but isn't as sticky. If you don't drive aggressively then the 712 may be all you need.

The MX is on my short list of tires for the 17"s when I get them. The short list being the Kumho MX, the Pirelli Pzero Nero, the Potenza RE750, and the new version of the Goodyear Eagle F1.

I have some yokohama A550Vs. Traction rating is AA. They were 120 each. Excellent tire, quiet, and they can be used YEAR ROUND.

A true touring tire!
