This morning, before I could get myself ready for work, Amber called me and said she had slid into a ditch. So I had to go pick her up and drive her to work. Driving to her school and back home should take me an hour, but instead it took me three. We had heavy snow, blowing sideways, covering the coating of ice on every road.

Come on - this is freaking April, for crying out loud. Not only that, but it was 70degF outside last week.

Anyway, I got in to work at 11:30. Amber's fine. Her car is probably fine. It was just a really crappy morning.

My two brothers in Iowa got like, a foot of snow! It was in the 80's a couple of days before.

It's gotten a little cool here, but we managed upper 50's today. I feel like I'm truly a southerner.

Dave, I really appreciate the offer, but I don't think it'd be the same. I know, I know, we go for the people. But not going in my own car would be sad for me.
