HEY! A sighting!

I drove in to work on my 2nd-choice route this morning. On Washtenaw Ave (may have been Huron by then) I saw a '92 pearlie with no spoiler turn on to...I dunno, some road. I didn't look at the street sign.

I know there are a couple of Ann Arbor-area members now - was this one of them?

And, if I seem excited, I am. It's been months since I saw an SVX besides mine. And I know where to find mine, so this was a nice surprise.

I've seen plenty of bears in the woods. The importance of an SVX sighting is, in terms of importance, more on the scale of a sasquatch.

Ahhh so innocent........

Around here I'd say on average I see another SVX 3 or 4 days a week. Hardly ever the same one twice oddly enough too. Don't get me wrong, I still get excited every time, and I still get tons of looks and questions about my car. They are still rare, just not as rare as some other regions of the country apparently.

Of course this only adds to the disappointment that with all these SVXes in our area, we only have a few active members on these forums, and our meet attendence record is only 12.

Right, but that's in Colorado, man. This is friggin' Michigan.

Incidentally, 'this is friggin' Michigan' can be used as an excuse for a lot of this state's shortcomings. I think we're getting it on our license plates next year.

"Maryland...at least it's not friggin' Michigan"

michigan

i live over in kalamazoo michigan, having only seen 2 svx's here in the past year. Unfortunately, a white one was being pushed by 3 guys into a the Transmission Clinic.

Saw one last weekend though on the ski trip to Boyne Mountain on US131 headed north, just north of Grand Rapids. Guy was only doing 65 on the highway(70 mph here)...i slowed down, looked over at him, he waved his cigarette at me..gezz...and i took off.

sighting

Hey Nick, Last summer I saw a white/pearlie at Walmart a couple of times. Talked to the guy once, and he seemed surprised that he was driving a Subaru SVX. AC didn't work , had window down and it was in the '90s. Also saw a red SVX with bondo on the spoiler and weird after market wheels. Not very nice, by Meijer on Carpenter Rd. BOBB
