Re: Replacement Parts Development Fund

This is a great idea, hope it comes to fruition. Perhaps we could include the manufacture of parts like a 5/6MT crossmember, or some turbo stuff? Just throwing it out there, I know they might not be as widely desired as stock stuff.

Amen! I've been trying to convince people to use EZ's instead of EG's...

Re: Replacement Parts Development Fund

I just checked all 3 of those websites mentioned by bheinen74 and eBay and there are no Subaru SVX's for sale. 7 on Autotrader and 2 on cars.com. So, becoming rarer.

Re: Replacement Parts Development Fund

Some twenty years ago when I was restoring my Subaru FF1 Sport Sedan, I was in contact with a local specialist Subaru second hand parts supplier, they informed me that I was very unlucky as if it had been a month earlier, they could have supplied new, all of the body panels. However, due to lack of storage space, the lot had been sent off as scrap metal. They had obtained them earlier from Subaru NZ when they had discarded them for similar reasons.

The place was good entertainment. They had a very arge parrot sitting on their counter and its vocabulary, after listening to a continual barrage of automotive conversation, was out of this world. Part numbers were included as well as words better not mentioned. "LOL" does not adequately describe the situation. Damn thing lauphed when I was presented with the sad news!

As I understand it, the network enjoys a good relationship with Subaru US and it might be possible to persuade them to inform all their dealerships that as a result the network, a strong following of the SVX still exists and therefore a worthwhile and viable market for spares remains. Even though small, it is surely solid and ongoing.

They probably have a news letter and could include this information by way of an interesting feature pointing out the prolonged loyalty towards their product.

Retaining an inventory takes time and storage space is limited, so that this could be a dangerous point in time. Could be a worthwhile project for Subaru Ambassadors.
