yeah it finally went last night. i was driving when all of a sudden i heard a "bang" and i felt a jolt. i thought i hit something so i pulled over. i checked the brand new YOKOHAMAS and they were fine. then i realized it was the stupid transmission, luckily i was close to my house. but the funny thing is i'm not mad at all. actually i'm suprised it lasted this long. it first started "slipping" at around 70k, but it wasn't bad. then around a month or so ago, the bearing started to go (100k). then last night it finally went at 104k. i'm not worried because right now i'm not working, so i don't have the money to fix it anyway, and in a couple months i'll be in TEXAS for 3 months (military duties call)so it actually works out. it'll just be parked fo a couple months. the only thing i'm gonna miss is making all these WACK hondas with the big, loud ass pipes, making them sound like they blew something, look like ****! sorry so long.

Ouch! Sorry to hear it
So, where are you going for the rebuild? You're pretty close to Level 10..... but I know they charge more.
It's a catch-22: pay more, but get a higher-performance trans. Ah, well, either way it'll be an experience for sure. Wishing you good luck with the car gods! |

i got a friend here that owns a transmission shop. he's gonna do the job for $800. i'm sure he'll do a good job because he works mostly on high performance and exotics. and he said he's done awd's before so we'll see.

"AC" I can relate, having had my tranny go last Aug (many here know of the "adventure"), and I can certainly understand your frustration. But, like you said, you were prepared (as much as one can be prepared). Glad everything will work out. In the meantime, would you mind editing your post to read "gosh darned" or something to that effect. My kids sometimes read over my shoulder, and I'd sure like to keep this a "family show." Even though, I realize, as Mark Twain said (paraphrased): "Under certain circumstances, profanity provides relief even prayer can't provide."
