Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Shane Hobson, your AC controller is back up & running - ready to pick up when you want - from you know where....

Daniel Parker, you can send yours to me as I said in my email.....

This will be the 6th AC controller I have fixed with the same issue......

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Put a new radiator in my parts car today which fixed the overheating issues (previous owner installed an Impreza radiator). It's officially been upgraded from "parts car" to "winter beater" status now. It still has lots of rust and 277k miles so unfortunately it's days are likely numbered. It does have a 4.44 swap though.

Popped in to visit Carl, but he wasn't home.
Bumped into him at the local BurgerFuel.
Hi Carl.

Hada rusted out power steering line replaced with a new one that has cooling fins attached. Really tight fit between the radiator and a/c condenser.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

My svx hates me... Or at least it's trying to cook me. I finally got around to fixing the iris valve by removing the intake. Broke the purge control valve in the process. No big deal. Started driving home and the Ac tensioner locked up. Thought my repair had snookered the works, nope, unrelated. Then today the window switch got stuck or something and the regulator started making this cool noise I couldn't locate right away. Busted! No Ac and I can't roll the drivers window down! Back to driving the Xt-6....

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Wow I feel bad. Got so much I want to do and the summer is fleeting by.
Good job Huck. It is a beauty.
Gamely she should be great now. I am still happy with just a 5 speed.
Got to get off my butt and paint my bumpers

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Visited Carl a few days ago, Hi Carl.
He had 7 x SVX on his back lawn. All in very good condition.
Took another look over his crashed black car, need to think about whether or not it's worth buying.

Back to my restoration car (this is the one I bought about a month ago, not running (crank pulley broken), not run for 5 years, rotten petrol, boot (trunk) full of plasterboard dust & waste).
Have cleaned the boot, stripped and cleaned most of the interior.
Today I polished the plastic headlights (thread with photos somewhere else here, I'l link to it when done), cleaned and recoloured the seats (thread with photos elsewhere) and fitted the seats. Took it for a drive. Wicked vibration when braking at 100km/h, but this went away after a while. Everything else seems to work.
Off for a safety inspection (WOF) on Tuesday. Wish me luck.

How are you making out with the roof. What are you doing to it?

I'm having the body shop down the street from me repaint it.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Wow. I could drive to Scranton and have it done for cheaper than my body shop wants. I got a quote of $800 . Said big job. The sun roof has to be removed and all the roof rubber has to be lifted to paint under it. If not they said it would peal in a few years.
