My second car I consulted with the manufacturer Carround
about which way to go. Their engineer suggested the
single inlet oval cat with a Ypipe for better flow, and it even
works out to a lower cost.....
End result: car did feel like it had more hp then my other car, and my mpg went up even more then my last car too.
Final anaylsis.....this was truly a better set up overall.
How can a y pipe possibly have better flow? Had you removed the left and right cats on the prior car? Think about it, if you take two pipes and put them together going into one pipe 1/3 to 1/2 of each of the small inlet pipes is being cut off at the joint...right where the two are coming together and piling their discharge onto eachother.
