If it comes with weather stripping, dual hood scoops and your zebra striped pants and the SVX in yellow, I'll jump on the deal right away.

Holey moley...

A funny thing happened today on the way to the orifice...

---------------

Shari: "I'll call you right back, I have to go out to the driveway and see how Randy's coming along with his inflatable SVX....bye!"

sound of footsteps and doors opening and closing....

"Honey, how is the.......Eeeeekkkkk!!!! (Shari finds Aredub flat on his back, eyes glazed, seemingly out like a light) She cradles his head in her lap, fanning him frantically...

Honey....what's the matter? Are you OK? Speak to me!!!!!

(Randy slowly lifts one hand and waves a finger weakly in the direction of the newly inflated SVX )

Yes, I see it honey......did you try to inflate it by mouth instead of the pump? What...?

(Randy waves his finger with more energy this time...)

Yes dear it looks fine, just like our car....but....with....a

.......6ft YELLOW BIPLANE WING!!!!!!!!

Inflated opinion....

Aredub,
Are you OK? Did the smelling salts bring you around? You have no idea how hard it was to glue that thing to the back. I hope the guy at the airport doesn't notice it's missing... Don

Rodney or Randy

<you just get "no respect">

Oh he loves it.

Thems that dish it out, can usually take it too.

I'd LOVE to sneak into that dealership and scotch-tape some ugly humongous wing on his car...

Seriously, I hope they do a real nice job on his car. I imagine he's on tenderhooks.
He's been ripped off, screwed over, and now...run into....the man needs a break.
I wish him many problem-free years of smooth sailing....

hey my kentuckee friend....

whatever works best for you. the svx gods continue to punish me. today i went to pick up my beloved svx only to find out that the spindle that goes into the transmission. this spindle is on the end of the cv axle. at the very end there is an metal ring or clip. behind this clip the spindle got twisted. apparently when the cv axle binded and began to come out of the tranny only to tip was still in.....well it twisted so that now it doesnt align with the rest of the spindle. so they have to replace that in order to get it back in the car.

i bet that sounds really confusing. sorry but i am no damn mechanic so i dont know how to better describe it. eddy i am sure you have an idea of what i am talking about. at least it didnt strip the inside of the tranny where the cv axle goes. good lord......well now they have to wait two more days to get the spindle piece in.....so friday i may have my car back.....

Very, but nothing comes out of the tranny when you remove the axle. You can, and I have seen it done, pry the stub axle out of the tranny thinking it's like some other Japanese and American setups. At that point you then have to pull the tranny to rapair the damage you have done inside the front diff. The axle is held on to the stub shaft with a simple roll pin. The axle to stub shaft is indexed so you can put it on 180 degrees off, but then you just remove it and turn it back 180 degrees to get the roll pin slot lined up properly.

Darn it, Leo. Sorry to hear that it's going to be even longer. Believe me, I can relate. I'm just hoping against hope that I will pick up my car tomorrow. If so, it will be the first time I will be able to pick it up on the very day they said it would be ready. We shall see.

Meanwhile, I'm slightly impressed with this little Neon -- it's got more get up and go than I thought it would. The suspension is still like riding on a "Pogo Ball" and the seats are like "backboards" but, all and all, it doesn't suck. It's better than those damned jelly beans (Metro's) I've been stuck with in the past.
