Front lower control arm bushings
There is app 3mm axial clearance between the front lower control arm bushings and the frame mountings.... you can move the arm +/- 3mm front to back with a crow bar. The bushings seem to be ok, no tears.
I cut larger "washers" from 2mm thick rubber and just slid them in place - two each side between the "thrust" surface of the bushing and the frame. First impressions are positive - I think I lost a thud type of sound when accelerating uphill on gravel road with uneven surface - feels more solid in pot holes and bumps too. Anyone else tried this? Do the poly bushings have an effect on this? Tapani |

Re: Front lower control arm bushings
Nice.
Currently mine feels sloppy lol. Like all the bushes are gone which I'd expect on a 20 year old car and it moves all over the road so need to get that sorted. |
