Re: 20/13 Cruise - I'd like a head count if there is interest

There are a lot of local wineries that we could swing through along the cruise if anyone is interested.

Also an update on the raffle stuff: I talked to Dave this morning and he is graciously willing to donate a Supertone kit for the raffle, courtesy of Susquehanna Motorsports (his company) I also plan to throw in an Optimum brand car care kit with a 1 day pass to any of the 2012 Carlisle events. And there will be a 10% off coupon to Susquehanna Motorsports for everyone who attends, as well as a possible future club discount If anyone wants to see their product line, their website is www.rallylights.com

I'm in 100%. I would love to get some really nice shots of around 30 SVXes driving through the country side. We should go somewhere where we can all park them nicely and get a good panoramic shot of them all. I'll probably bring a little video camera too!

I'm planning for the cruise up to the Firetower/Pagoda. Plenty of parking at either spot for photos (Firetower has a large mecadem area that we could park in and Pagoda a large parking lot).

Still working on getting us all in/up the Firetower for an overhead panorama shot of the SVXs on the mecadem below

The only concern I have is daylight. When do we plan on going? I have a good 4 hour drive so I'll have to plan accordingly.

Please forgive me if I sound like an idiot, but what is a "mecadem area"?

MACADAM

from Wikipedia

Due to uses of macadam as a road surface in former times, roads in some parts of the United States (as parts of Pennsylvania) are often referred to as macadam, even though they might be made of asphalt or concrete. Similarly, the term "tarmac" is sometimes colloquially misapplied to asphalt roads or aircraft runways.

Is this why some roads here are made from "red dawg"?

Re: 20/13 Cruise - I'd like a head count if there is interest

I'm also definitely up for a cruise. (Assuming my significant other will hang with our crowd vs checking out flea markets, because I recall it can be hard to follow when traffic does hit, and I don't even know what an FRS radio is!)

Thanks, Brian. Big points for you!

nancy

ps: two hours is fine - but, JIC, is there any provision for small bladders at the stopping point?!

Re: 20/13 Cruise - I'd like a head count if there is interest

Not a problem I'm still working on a route, and as far as small bladders go, I intend to plan in stops along the route for facilities as well as rally points for everyone to fall in if they get behind.

I plan to get everything mapped out by the end of next week hopefully. I have a rally to work in New York next weekend, and this weekend I have plans as well (not to mention I just had a tooth pulled), so I havent had a chance to map the route out online yet so I can post it.

I may also have a few STi/WRX locals who are interested in joining the cruise.

As long as they remain at the end of the lineup. We don't want that kind of machinery polluting the visual beauty of the gene pool.

Ahh. The spelling difference must be why a search didn't turn up any results. It must be an Eastern PA thing.

From past experience, a 2 hour drive one way drive, will result in a 6 hour trip.

Re: 20/13 Cruise - I'd like a head count if there is interest

Some news on the cruise front:

I may very well not be able to do the cruise, due to some unforeseen financial difficulties. Its a bit up in the air currently, but leaning more towards 60/40 not being able to I have a route drawn up, but need to map it out on yet. I will still be attending at least 1 day of the show (after all, I do need to drop off raffle items yet), most likely Saturday. Unless I can sell off the rest of my exhaust parts though, I probably won't be able to run the cruise ( $75 for a 94007 Magnaflow cat and $25 for the AR25 resonator if anyone is interested )

I will keep everyone in the loop as to what is going on, until then I will try and map something out on to post a link here.
