Brake bleading question

...as was always my understanding of the procedure. But then I found this in the Chilton repair manual:

I presume this is because of having ABS but does it really make that much difference in what order to bleed?
Any insight on this?

It does make a difference. Usually it's furthest to closest. I'm not sure why Chilton gives that pattern.

That's what I thought.

Based on the diagram, secondary first then primary last. I believe it is the same as furthest to closest.

Hi everyone, Subaru uses two[2] complete and separate system, while most other cars switch to a both front and one rear brake system when the brakes have a problem. I don't know how this would affect bleeding the SVX brakes, but it probably has something to do with it. My Subaru guy says you can use the anti lock brake system to bleed the system. Take care, BOBB
