Re: How to get dog hair out of automotive carpet?

i have one of those little ones, and it works great for vacuuming out the car - didn't know the bigger ones were so crappy.

Re: How to get dog hair out of automotive carpet?
New reply to an old thread.. I have three German Shepherds so you can imagine how much dog hair I get in the back of my Legacy wagon..
The BEST tool I've found BY FAR is a Zoom Groom.. A hand-sized rubber grooming tool intended for removing undercoat from the dog. Turned on it's back and dragging it across the carpet brings all the fur to the surface making it a snap to vacuum out. The trick is to drag with enough pressure to bring out the dog hair but not so heavy that you create too much friction and the rubber burns into the carpet. I've been using this method for tens years or so.... |

Re: How to get dog hair out of automotive carpet?
There is a rubber brush on the market that works pretty well. It has lots of rubber teeth and when you rub it on a carpet, it pulls out the hair. I use it on my hose carpet to get the hair out, so it should work on a car carpet as well.

Re: How to get dog hair out of automotive carpet?
LOL at old thread - we actually ended up buying a Shark Navigator vacuum, and its awesome.
its basically a $120 Dyson, and its a real sucker ( and i don't mean its easily fooled). i use it to vacuum the cars all the time, and it pulls up so much stuff from the carpet in the house compared to our old vacuum. i'd highly recommend it.

Re: How to get dog hair out of automotive carpet?
sounds like you have your problem solved but next time buy "pet fresh" from the grocery store. it's a powder that you shake on the carpet and let sit. when you vacuum the powder pulls the hair with it. i have three dogs and this is the cheapest (costs a couple bucks) and best working ( i have a 6.5 hp vacuum) thing i have ever used.
