I vaguely remember it as a kit car or shell to go with a VW floor pan (frame) when I was building dune buggys in the '70s.

I can't believe how rare the car is. I had no idea there's only 1500 existing cars left. I'm very supprised I saw one.

I sat there with my mouth wide open as the silver beauty approached me and slowed down. It turns out he was looking at the SVX! Maybe he recognized it, maybe he saw that I had similar windows. Who knows. Just goes to show you that even people that drive head turners are not impervious to doing some head turning themselves!! How often do two different Guigiaro cars share the same road?

Well, if you want to see the "beauty of Giugiaro" in September, make your way to "Autofest" in Evansville, Indiana. Last year, there were 11 DeLoreans in attendance and four SVXes. We were parked blocks apart. This year, we've decided to team up with the DeLoreans and have our own little Giugiaro corner of the world. Contact Steve Wasion (wasions) for details on how your SVX can be a part of it (surely, if the "Starsky and Hutch Torino Club" can muster up 9 cars, we should be able to have a few more than 4 this year )

SVX -- it's "All We'll Drive!!!"

I like that.

BTW, I was talking to one of the older guys that I work with that had worked with me at Lebanon Valley Offset(out of bussiness ) that they had printed the sales brochure for the Bricklin. If anyone was in NY when the troops came back from Desert Storm and got a booklet with scenes from the war , well, we printed that too.

in a car magazine (i forget which one) this month i read Bricklin will be bringing the "Yugo" back to the U.S. - i think this year. it won't be built in Yugoslavia, though. ~$5000 for a brand new 2-door. the quality control for that car must be a riot!!!

I saw that. It has a new front end but the same rear end.

now all you need to do is find a BMW M1. It's also Guigiaro designed. Definitely a family resemblance.
Of course the son of the M1 was the 850 shown below. Does it not have a certain resemblance to our SVX?

Randy,

I remember Starsky & Hutch. But I don't know who was the tall blonde guy, Starsky or Hutch ?

Larry III
PS: Steve McQueen in Bullit was on Sunday night. I watched it. It was a great car chase scene.

M1

I think you see that the BMW M1 and the DeLorean are from the same designer.
I love this car, but it's more than rare and very expensive.
Here's a pic:

PS: Steve McQueen in Bullit was on Sunday night. I watched it. It was a great car chase scene.
The tall Blonde Guy (David Soul) was Detective Ken Hutchinson (Hutch). Paul Micheal Glaser played Dave Starsky.

I watched Bullit a couple of weeks ago. Kept freaking out that they had to pull over to a pay phone, every time they wanted to make a call.

The chase scene was, indeed, exciting, but, if you'll notice, the most impressive part (Jumping the hills) was ONE scene shot at from several camera angles. This becomes evident as you notice that you always see the same cars every time they jump a hill.

I have never seen a BMW M1 and I think there is only one BMW 850 in Winnipeg...a black one. Someone brought their Ferrari 360 to the mini car show that takes place by my place every sunday night.
