So... it's not an SVX, but... My new ride (Large pics!)

Right so, instead of buying that SVX that the guy was trying to shaft me out of an extra $600.. I was given a car by my uncle. My father was on the phone with him when the discussion occurred, and he told me it was a '96 DeVille.

Well... he was wrong. It turns out, what I now own is a '94 Fleetwood Brougham. A much cooler, rear-wheel-drive Florida-Approved car.

Pics below.

Sitting in the driveway for now...

Interior shot. New starter sitting on passenger floorboard. Much easier to do now that I know it's not a Northstar... Eventually I will replace the top of that dash, it's cracked.

Nice 'n roomy...

Aww yeah... way better than a Northstar.

The top needs to be cleaned a little, but it's in great shape. It had just started to drizzle as I started taking photos.

You can't have a thread discussing a Cadillac without a hood ornament shot. The world would stop, honest.

When you finally do get your SVX, you can park it in the Cadillac's trunk.

you'll need one of these:

i'd also recommend modding the turn signal so it never shuts off.

LOL @ the hat. That made my day.

Yeah, it needs very little really. I just have to put that little trim piece on the nose, and a bit of leather polish for the wheel.

Also, the dash is cracking in a few spots from our lovely Florida sun, but I can fix that. My vision is actually bad enough where I can get a perscription to tint the windshield, so that'll help too.

my grandfather had the same car. he disabled the power "trunk close assist" because everyone just wanted to slam the trunk closed.

Yeah that happened to my mom's '92 Park Avenue she owned a few years ago.

Fortunately I know about the trunk assist, so I shouldn't have that problem.

Then again.. my uncle may have disabled it on his own, as he has 3 kids.

Re: So... it's not an SVX, but... My new ride

Is that the 6litre v8? I had an el dorado with that, and an mpg sentinal on the dash, and it was always great fun to mash the gas and watch it read 3 or 4. Of course that's back when gas was under a buck a gallon, now that would probably make you cry.

Comfy ride though, take care of it, and it will last you at least another 3 weeks!

It's the 5.7 LT1 used in the Caprice/Impala/C4 Corvette.

It's got the MPG guage too. It's almost worth black taping it so I don't have to watch it. LOL
