Re: More problems...
Ok, stupid question...
I did not remove the torque converter, just unbolted it from the flexplate. Did it need to be oriented any special way when I re-attached the two?

Re: More problems...
Yet another update from today.
I think the cam angle code was erroneous because after a clear it is gone. If anything I bet that is a loose connection. I'll put some di-electric grease on it and see if that helps. The speedo issue is still around. I still get the 16 power light blinks on startup, I didn't pull the code tonight but I have pulled it two times now and it's always been 22, unless I totally fail at counting In any case, something is clearly not right with whichever sensor controls the speedo. I think that is the one just behind the torque converter, but I'm not sure. My cruse control failed a while back and I have not been able to find the root of the problem, but if the speed sensor was acting up I would think that would cause me to have no cruise. Funny thing is that I hadn't gotten any error codes until now How exactly does one remove that speed sensor? Just grab and twist? Also, I checked that ground location you mentioned Tom, and it looks fine. After digging into the wiring diagrams I would think that there would be much larger problems if it were off or loose. If I'm not mistaken the ground in this diagram that is circled and has a connector label of "GE" is the ground on the back of the intake manifold on the passenger side.

Re: More problems...
I think it's fixed
I win the dumbass of the year award though... I said I checked that ground location, which I did, but only visually. It looked nice and tight. If I had pulled my head out of my ass and actually tightened it I would have noticed that it was just a tiny bit loose. Tightened the bolt, pulled the neg battery cable to reset things, put it back on and she fired right up. Lesson learned, trust the Toms *hangs head in humble shame* It also explains the speedo error since that is the ground location for the speed sensor.
