What is a full 5mt swap worth?

I am toying with the idea of just parting out my car and was wondering what a full 5mt swap would go for.

Includes:
Transmission (3 WRX ones to to choose from. One has less than 5k on it )
Cross member
Pedal assembly
Driveshaft
Rear Diff
Shift linkages
Clutch (2 to choose from Act HD with 25k miles or a stock with less than 5k. The ACT has a real heavy feel)
Flywheel
Starter
Transmission mount
Clutch master and Slave cylinders

That is a nice compilation and I hate to see the car get parted...

Honestly, that assembly of parts is worth $3k depending on who made the parts like X-member, pedals, shift linkage and driveshaft.

Re: What is a full 5mt swap worth?

You did the pedals and shiff linkages and AvPPoW did the crossmember for me.

He did a good job but flaked out on me and never returned the pedals or the shift linkages I sent him.

Your work is very good as well.

I don't see why the car hasn't sold... does it have history of an accidents?? Otherwise it would be wise to hold out for a buyer... its very nice

Re: What is a full 5mt swap worth?

The car has a few issues and I suck at selling things. I am always so worried about the person buying from me that I end up pretty much giving things away.

Right now it does burn some oil and the water pump went out last week. I have an extra but I havn't had the time to put it on. I don't want some one to buy this car as a daily driver and then curse my name name when they have an issue.

But hey if the 5 spd swap itself is worth 3k then I guess I shouldn't feel bad about selling the whole car for a little more.

absolutely not... Those are minor issues and with the work into it already it is worth $5k... Sit on it and a buyer will come along

using oil and bad water pump are not minor issues for most people... even not minor for some of us.

Would take a miracle to get $5,000.00 for it.

The transmission swap is much more than just getting the parts and the whole Job can be had for about $3,000

Lots of SVX's just sit on ebay for a lot less that $5,000.00!

It is rare for one to sell for close to that. Because we love them, we know what they are worth, but people that don't know the SVX know what they are really worth.

Its a wrx 5mt. There is no reason that alone shouldn't sell the car for $5k... You gotta think, to get a decent bodied SVX with a blown trans you are gonna spend $1000. Then you have $3k worth of parts to buy to do that conversion yourself. The parts he is offering are worth $3k. Then you can either do the install yourself or pay someone at least $1k to do it for you... You are at $5k there. Or you could save yourself the hassle and buy one thats already done with coilovers to boot!!(thats $1100 in parts alone). A water pump and front seals should cost not more than $500 to buy and have installed.

Well buy my 5mt swap and get a free convenient carrying package.

Also includes a nice custom koni suspension and some rota's.

I have had some people from out of state interested but I threw a wrench into my own sale. If the 5mt swap parts are worth 3k alone then I guess I should have no problem selling the car as is for 3k.
