Question: Do stock lugnuts fit 05+ Sti Wheels?

Question: Do stock lugnuts fit 05+ Sti Wheels?
I bought a nice set of the oem STi BBS wheels. Will the stock lugnuts work? It looked like they would, the wheels have a chamfer that seems to match that on the lugnut, but they don't feel right when I started to torque them up...
Need help before PepBoys closes tonight...

yes they will work, but they will jingle because of the OE washers. Best bet is to go out and buy a set of chamfered 12x1.25 lug nuts

Thanks Tom!
The reason they felt funny torquing the lugnuts was the hub was binding in the wheel, from the powder coat. I put some never sieze on the hub, hope these wheels come off ok, because I'm not sure I like the Gunmetal grey, at least on Silver...

Did you have your STi wheels powder coated? I hope they dont bend on you.

Hi,
I bought the wheels like this, they have been powder coated by previous owner...why would they bend?

It was wierd you posted this as Dustin (odepaj), Shaun (YourConfused), and I were discussing the weakness of the STi wheels. I have been trying to read around on this and it appears to be true. The idea is that powder coating hurts aluminum forged wheels, like the STi stock BBS's, during the curing portion of the powder coating process thus making them easier to bend or even crack (especially under track/racing conditions). However a couple of Impreza guys have powder coated their wheels at a lower temperature (like 200F, I think) with no ill effects thus far. (example 1,example 2)
I am not planning on doing it myself but I was curious none the less.

Powdercoating does not make the wheel any weaker. One of the local club guys races an STi with those wheels, powdercoated, as his dedicated track wheels and they haven't had a problem after 2 years.

Take it or leave it; some people get lucky, some dont.

Call me crazy but if you already stolen the STI rims, why not the great set of brembos that comes with (they were meant to fit in that rim after all)

They don't fit the SVX.
