I checked on partsvoice.com for this part this morning. It says they are currently in stock at the following 2 dealerships. They are all toll-free numbers so check with them first

The main problem with this grille is that it flows less air than either the stock waterfall grille or the 97 grille.

Smallcar took the cheap way out when fabricating this grille. If you look closely, you will see that the diamond "mesh" pattern is embossed on a solid plastic background, with a small hole drilled in the center of each diamond for air flow. Total opening for air is a lot less. The stock grilles are completely open.

Of course with a lot of time (and a Dremel with a plastic cutting tool) they could all be opened up. Thats a lot of work with too many chances to screw up, not to mention it would take away from the structual stability.

But not for 350.00. (and it still needs painting) A 97 grille from Dayle, including painting, is still less.

GOD!! Why does Smallcar have to be so retarded!!! They seem to "half-ass" everything (or atleast everything I come across)... Just when I think I like the look of the best looking grill (again IMHO), I find out that it is cheaply made, yet they want over 2x as much $$$ as a 97 grill!!! screw it all... I'm keeping my "fake light" grill... That is free and in the event of an accident, will be easier to find and replace...

$350.00 is the grille and clear lights combo. The grille by itself is $145.00. The small holes was a disappointment but the Dremel widening was something to do on a cold winter night, after night after night. I think it looks better than the '97 grille.

Bruce Titus Subaru = Subaruparts (as evidenced by my receipts from Subaruparts). Could be they are only alloted so many parts from the dealership parts dept. though.
