My mom just traded her 2000 Forester in for a 2007. They are both automatics, but I too can feel the extra power. Not sure if its because of the drive by wire on the '07, or what it is, but I do feel it.

Ken, it was a PA deer, not one of those state sponsored steroid feed Colorado deer!

The insurance company called back and raised thier offer to just over $7500. We're getting there.

Ah well, be glad it was a 200lb deer and not a 1000lb moose, if you have moose around there. They tend to end up inside the car with you after the colision, through your windshield.

200 lb deer man the hunters in NEPA are getting the shaft. Were lucky we see one that breaks 125.

It was a buck, about 180-200 pounds judging by the carcass, but I couldn't get closer. I might be slightly high on my estimate, but I'd say safely over 150 for sure. Bigger then most I see on the side of the road. You'd think he'd be smarter having lived long enough to put on some decent poundage.

Ive heard rumors that with the better forage and more clearcuts down your way that the deer do actually reach much larger sizes down there as opposed to my neck of the woods which mostly composed of old forests and reclaimed strip mines. You just confirmed that for me.Good luck with the new Forester

We had a doe, about 120-130 pounds wondering the streets on the southside of Allentown. She must have come down of the mountain looking for trash or handouts. The city is boardered by the mountains that make up the southend of the Lehigh Valley.

I settled with the insurance today. They had started at $6,000 and we settled at $8,612.85. I think I did pretty good. I should have the check next week, and just have to get the rest through the credit union and the 2007 should be in the garage by the end of next week.

The first offer was the basic NADA value. We faxed over all the current receipts for new items on the car, like tires, and mechanical repairs. We then settled on the new total plus the sales tax and got the total of $8,612.50.
