Well hey, to anyone who sees the movie. Do me a favor. Before it shows, there's a preview for some thriller that's really ambiguous and really viral.

Pay attention to it, I wasn't and wished I did, it doesn't even say the title to the flick but it caught my attention. All I'll say is when the previews roll watch for a home movie style scene of like a going away party. I wanna see what other people have to say about it.

I suppose you hated RoboCop... LOL

With some of the statements that I have seen you make on the forums here, I see that you are one to take what is fed to you instead of actually researching the topic for yourself. And then spout blanket statements there-after.
I religiously follow autoblog, which has covered the movie since it was just a glimmer in Micheal Bay's eye. I was pumped about it, I loved my transformers and still have all of them in a box. They were the only toy from my childhood I never sold. Then I watched teasers. Then trailers. And the more I saw, the more dissappointed I became. Yes, there is an OLD 1988-91 BMW 5 series, and an OLD 1980s nissan/toyota pickup. Sure, there are a few 'other cars', but ALL of these cars are rusted POSs from the 80s, and none were in good condition. Why?

Because GM wants to portray all ITS cars as the ONLY shiny new models in this movie, and is basically subliminally saying that ALL OTHER marques are old, rusty, and crappy.

That annoys me.

Strangely, I just didn't feel any of that while watching the movie. I guess product placement just doesn't work as well on me as it does you... Oh well.

Indeed, after a little internets sleuthing I seemed to have found it's a movie being directed by J.J. Abrams, the guy responsible for Armageddon. The project's current working title is "Cloverfield" and at the moment no one knows ANYTHING about it. There's actually some speculation that it's a new godzilla movie.

Supposedly it's due in January of 08 and some executives involved have mentioned that it's going to be primarily from that 'home video' view.

Gentlemen, I think we're looking at the next Blair Witch here.

That sounds kinda neat. It'd be cool if somebody did a 'realistic' monster movie, kinda like that asian one from a little while back. The big amphibious thing. Can't remember the name of it, but it was pretty good.

No idea. Last scary movie I saw (or well, watched with my girlfriend) was a japanese flick called "Uzumaki"... It was about spirals.

Oh yeah, I've been meaning to see that.

Actually this specific film has nothing to do with The Host. But I believe new line has bought the rights to The Host and is currently making a redux.

Edit: me and my freinds were talking about the preview. It has a name 'J.J. Abrams' and a date '1-18-08' but no title. She came up with the silly idea that maybe the date wasn't really a 'date' and was actually a name.

We punched 1-18-08 in , and this popped up;

Saw Transformers today... Anyone who doesnt go see it because of the 'advertisments' is missing out on ONE HELL of a movie. I mean damn... BEST MOVIE EVAR.

And yeah, that preview was freaky as all hell... I hope the whole movie is done from that point of view.

Doubt all you want. Until you go see it, your opinion means jack on the quality of the movie.
