What is the warranty with this company? I'm assuming it's not lifetime?

Is their exchange program similar to Koni?

Definitely not lifetime. 1 year manufacture-defect warranty. I'll look into the mechanics of the exchange program today.

Well, the non-refundable part does scare me away, to be honest. Even though it is cheap in comparison, it is still fairly pricey.

Maybe I would have to wait to be 31st... or something

There are sort of two sides to this. For the customer, I wouldn't expect anyone to put down 50% without them knowing exactly what they would be getting. You'd have all the information you could possibly want before being asked to put down 50%. For the manufacturer, when they are asked to jump into a niche market like the SVX, they often won't consider it at all. We are actually lucky that this company has said they would do it. In this case, they said they would do it only if they can guarantee a certain number of sales so that they don't loose their shorts on this.

Wouldn't it just be easier and cheaper to mod some coilovers from a different kind of car, with similar weight?

Why didn't anyone think of that before?

First, you'll never find a more affordable set of coilovers than these. Modifying a set made for another car would only raise the cost substantially. And Hocrest already looked at that. The obvious donor car would be some sort of Impreza. It can be done, but there are enough differences though that the transplant would not be trivial. Cutting/grinding/welding would be required either for the SVX or the coilovers which would add significant cost and hassle (unless you are a DIY guy with a welder and other tools) over a bolt-on solution. For the average person who just wants an affordable bolt-on solution, something made specifically for the SVX is the way to go.

I'm interested in a set, but I'm wondering what shipment to Ireland or England might cost? They would be big and heavy I expect.

Our 15th Anniversary meet is on 21st July. I'll talk it over with the tech heads at the meet. If I'm in at that stage, I'll commit the money no problem.

Joe

I'm interested...but I'm not down with putting my name down yet. Not sure of my financial situation in the new little while. We'll see.

YOU ARE THE MAN. This is the solution I was looking for. I need to replace my OEM suspension but considering how tiny the gap is between OEM and custom, I wanted custom...

Just one question. Will these leak like the Konis do?

No mention of leakage on the other boards that I visited, but I'll check with the manufacturer tomorrow.

My first day back here in eons and you've gotta throw this at me???

If I can find someone to buy the Koni inserts I bought from Tom (TomsSVX) a while back, I'm definitely in for a set!

Sorry for the slight hijack but it IS so I can put my name on the list.

For Sale - One set of unused Koni inserts, still in the box that Tom shipped them in. Please PM if interested - I accept/prefer PayPal.

Dan
