Milwaukee NT

I don't autocross an SVX or even an MR2 any more, but I thought I'd post about this. I know some of you autocross.

I signed up for my first Solo National Tour event recently. It's in Milwaukee on July 7th and 8th. The class (STX) seems to be mostly made up of WRXs, and I have no idea how I'll fare against them. I'm sure they're the favorite car for the class for a reason. My hope is to finish anywhere better than DFL.

Of course, the car has to make it to Milwaukee first. I did a local event on Saturday and the driver's door broke. My friend has owned the car ('96 Eclipse) since new, and had an accident in it several years ago. It seems the metal around the lower hinge cracked and went unnoticed by the body shop, and now it's rusted out. It's not an easy thing to fix. We're working on it, and I hope we get the car done in time to go.

Ha! Papa Del's is, in fact, the best evAR.

You can find a schedule for the weekend on the SCCA's website, but I have no idea what the rules are for spectators at NT events. We allow them at local events, but I've never been to an NT.

The door is fixed, so I will be able to make the NT. We got it hung last night, and it's just a matter of putting the fender back on.

Me too. But alas, I'll be in a different timezone around then.
