Thumbs up Intro!

Hey all, the email suggested that I give an intro so here goes! I have a 92 LSI with 65k on the car and 45k on a 94 engine. (long story) The car was delivered on monday with the engine separate. Tuesday I was driving the car. The car has HORRIBLE brake issues that I have to get resolved soon. Any input on ART or other rotors may help! Also I think the previous owner drove like this for awhile as there seems to be some slop in the rack. The brakes dragging on the rotors are also noisy.

Other than that the car is great! I think this is a keeper.

I teach high school automotives for a living and am very knowlegeable, but probably not as much as a Trained Subaru Tech.

I live in Gresham Oregon and would like to attend any functions in the Northwest.

Thats it. This is a great resource!

Mike, welcome to the Network. Great to have another "hands on" person in the fold.

Mikes

I was once in this small bar...only about 20 people. We found out that 5 of us were Mike's. We had to get up and sing some 50s doo wop song.

Also three of the guys I mountain bike with are named Mike.

"Hey Mike, watch out for that root!" "Yo, Mike. You got a bottom bracket spanner?" "Whoa, Mike. Didja see Mike eat that thistle?" "Gee, Mike. Why'd ya cut me off back there? No, not you, Mike. Mike. No, the other Mike."

Sounds like a circus to me!

It's nice to have you aboard, Mike! Please show those kids the thought and ingenuity that went into the SVX. I don't know about your school, but in mine all the auto shop kids were domestic fans and swore that all Japanese cars were crap. I think that this mentality amongst some consumers (fewer now than in the past)has allowed the Big Three to get away with terrible products.

Anyway, I am glad to see another mechanic join. What a base of knowledge and experience we're building, here!

Mt biking/ school

Hey wasions, thanks for the laugh! (Bottom bracket spanner) It does get a bit confusing.

As far as the students are concerned, I would say that about 50 percent of the students like imports. Me? Well I have a 67 mustang as well, an old 78 f150 and my wife drives a 2000 galant. I have an xt6 awd for sale. (bought with a blown air strut, now fixed)

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.
