The VHT will help you a little on take off. BUT it will still burn tires if you fully powerbreak. I say a nice launch with a powerbreak at 1500-1750rpm would be optimal for a FWD, you basically want to find the threshold of when the car will spin tires and when it won't and get right on that point

Ive drag raced both in drive and using manual shifting. Just put it in drive and floor it. Using manual shifting added another half second to my drag time.

I think you're the first person who has ever said that since it takes 1st totally out, then again, if you used manual in D then it did absolutely nothing for ya as it only works in 3rd or 2nd... Was it different conditions or possibly less gas in the tank (save a 150lbs)???

Save the drag strip for the domestics who can't corner and go Autocross. It suits the SVX better.

Did you have the shifter in first when you took off? I didn't even lose a full 1/10 off my times manually shifting.

what about putting it in manuel and not shifting? It'll run to 6500 then shift to avoid the rev limiter.

In manual mode it simply deletes 1st gear. Putting it in 1st will do exactly what you're saying here. Manual only works in 2nd or 3rd and is only there to provide a higher ratio to start with in snow or ice so you don't slip from a start.
