XM radio antenna wire got pinched!!

Looks like I pinched the xm antenna wire. I've cut the pinched section out of the wire and now it's time to fix it. Question I have is do I have to reattach the both sections of wire using any special connectors? Is there an impedance mismatch issue if I simply solder both center wire and shield together?

Thanks.
Ali

I assume you are refferring to the co-axial cable thast runs from the radio aerial to the radio/cd/head unit. If this is the case you can buy connectors for this type of cable from your local tv/auto parts shop. Use the connectors and put in a professional join, or buy a soldered joiner and re-connect it permanantly, it's up to you.
Sorry about the slow reply....

Problem fixed. Some solder and heat shrink did the job.

Thanks.

ps. Howard Stern doesn't do much for me...didn't listen to him when he was free and certainly won't listen to him when it cost money!
